Holistic Interior Design is a different way of looking at how we live and work within the buildings we occupy.
Its aim is to balance our physical and spiritual needs with those of the natural environment by providing a truly therapeutic and nurturing interior space which reflects who we are as individuals.
Most modern interiors look towards fashion for their inspiration, focusing on the creation of an investment rather than a nurturing living space. Little thought is given to the health of the space itself and its effect on the occupants and the wider environment. Modern materials are often non-sustainable producing vast quantities of waste during their full life-cycle e.g. production, use and disposal. They can also ‘off gas’ producing atmospheric pollution which can cause many symptoms ranging from asthma to Multiple Sensitivity Disorder.
The service is of particular use to people suffering from allergies, asthma and eczema or those simply wanting to create a more relaxing, eco-friendly and/or natural interior environment. As the aim is to promote a healthy ‘holistic’ environment for both people and nature, natural rather than man-made solutions are promoted where possible with each interior tailored to the individual.
Holistic Interior Design works with the following themes to provide a balanced and healthy living space. User involvement is crucial to the success of the scheme and all users of the space need to be fully involved for the process to work.
