Counselling

An integrative approach when counselling, allows the selection of methods, techniques and concepts from a variety of disciplines. This takes into account client individuality and diversity of needs. There are fundamental beliefs common to all disciplines.

These include the following:

  • Confidentiality allowing the client to feel safe in counselling
  • The client/counsellor relationship is based on mutual respect and trust
  • Clients should achieve some understanding and insight as a result of counselling they have received
  • Clients should experience growth and change within the therapeutic situation
  • Clients should experience themselves as active participants in counselling
  • One-to-One Personal Development

Personal development can be undertaken as a separate process or as a ‘follow on’ from counselling.

Are there areas in your life you want to change?
Is there a relationship you want to improve, either personal or professional?
Is there a goal you would like to achieve?
Are you floating aimlessly?

Offering clients objective support as they examine their lives and set goals for change is a very important part of the process. Through trust, challenge, clarification and realism, they increase self-esteem, gain a positive outlook on life and become more proactive and self-aware. Change isn’t easy but with help and support, all things are possible!

One to One Personal Development is an ongoing partnership, which helps clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. The interaction creates clarity and moves them into action. It concentrates on where they are today and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be tomorrow. It supports them in drawing out the resources they have.

Each client is a unique individual and is offered sessions tailored to his/her specific needs.
