Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a wonderful, natural and simple way of helping your body to heal itself. Often referred to a holistic therapy as it works on your mind, body and spirit, rather than focusing on your symptoms. During times of ill health it is a therapy that nurtures, heals and invigorates. In good health it has a positive effect. Regular reflexology can help maintain your health and prevent certain reoccurrences of illness.

Reflexology is a contact therapy involving the massage and stimulation of the reflex points on the feet which relate to corresponding organs and systems of the body. The left foot represents the left side of the body and the right foot the right side. Crystalline deposits accumulate in the reflex points making them tender to touch. By applying pressure to the points on the feet, areas of the body can be treated, either stimulating or relaxing as required.

When you are ill or stressed these reflex areas can become congested and be sensitive to touch as toxins can build up. Blockages in the reflex areas prevent a free flow of energy throughout the body. A reflexologist will work to unblock these areas and bring the body back into balance and harmony.

Reflexology for stress and stress related illnesses

Reflexology encourages you to breathe, to relax, and let go of stress. Stress can cause so many illnesses. A little stress is necessary to boost your adrenaline is what gets you going, however constant stress can run you down. How you manage the stresses and strains of everyday living will determine how healthy and happy you remain. Your body wants to be well and healthy, but sometimes it just needs a little extra help.
