The Relaxation Company In The Creation Process – The Next Drive

I feel that this is a good time to give an update of where The Relaxation Company is in this moment. It has been a busy year forging the plans to build on the successful research result of The Champion for Wellbeing programme. The time has come to roll out our vision to develop this further. So let me share a bit of this with you.

We continue to offer the programme to an open market with the next course beginning in September 2011 (dates below), as well as working with a group of soldiers in the summer to enhance their skills in dealing with stress. As we see the results that participants of the programme continue to have, it inspires us to develop new markets.

We feel that from businessmen and women, to politicians, to parents, people going into retirement and for school pupils there is much scope for all to help people get the most out of their lives. One of the comments many people make when they get the chance to be really honest is ‘Is this it? Is this what life is about?’

It’s these very answers our programme breaks though allowing participants discover themselves their passions and rekindle their lives in discovering their true authentic self.

One of the areas we are very passionate about is in schools and to give you a flavour, the plan is to work with a school in Perth & Kinross and a High School and their 6 feeder primaries in Fife. From P1 to S6, we will have input into the emotional wellbeing of pupils in what we are calling the Change Makers programme as well as delivering training in the Champion for Wellbeing for teachers.

The schools are on board and our first application for 3 years of funding is submitted. Please send positive thoughts in that direction!!

During the process of collating the information for the funding application we came up with a description that encompasses all aspects of our work, which is the Evolution of Human Enterprise.

Divine Inspiration! Daily Food For The Mind

Sometimes people ask me what keeps me going on a day to day basis. I guess there are many reasons, in particular the people I associate with, but I would like to share another of my secrets with you. There are so many inspiring emails around just now which you may well be aware of but this is where I get my daily inspirations.

For years I have enjoyed the daily emails from Mike Dooley at theuniverse@tut.com and on many occasions have felt they were written specifically for me!

Great resource for inspiration is YouTube – Greg Braden and Will Smith are two who come to mind immediately. One that is worth watching is The Power of Words
http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=Hzgzim5m7oU

The TED talks are a great source of innovative speakers – Sir Ken Robinson’s talks on education are fantastic!

www.higherawareness.com always have a beautiful message along with really meaningful quotes – here are a few from a recent selection:

Take time to be still; ‘Work is not always required… there is such a things as sacred idleness, the cultivation of which is now fearfully neglected.’
George MacDonald

“Paying off your debts and saving money is less stressful than spending the rest of your life with your back against a financial wall.”
Ron Hiebert

How are you choosing to spend your money?
Do you have a spending plan? A spending plan feels quite different from a budget. With budgets, we can feel victimized. They can heighten our poverty consciousness.

With a spending plan, you look at how much you earn and then decide how you WANT to spend the money. With a spending plan, you claim your power to decide, to manage, to make your finances work. You can choose to spend your money differently so your life works more smoothly.

“True financial freedom is not only having money, but having power over that money as well.”
Suze Orman

Have You Heard About Davids Incredible Contagious New Book?

David Hamilton’s newly released book is creating a real understanding of the power of contagious thinking!

David’s next workshop in Perth is scheduled for 10th September 2011.
Check out David’s new website at
www.drdavidhamilton.com Here is an extract to whet your appetite:

Emotional Contagion David R Hamilton PhD

Your emotions are contagious.
When you’re happy, you cause others to feel happy. When you are sad, you spread sadness too. And of course, the reverse is true – others make you happy and sad. You are both a transmitter and receiver of emotion or, as one of my friends likes to say, we are either Radiators or Hoovers.

It’s called Emotional Contagion and scientific research has now uncovered how it happens. When you’re happy, your whole body shows it. It’s written all over your face, in your smile and in your eyes, and it’s shown in how you hold your body and even how you move. That’s what people see when they look at you.

You have a system of brain cells, known as the Mirror Neuron System (MNS), that also sees people. The word ‘mirror’ is there for good reason. It is because these cells mirror what we see in others.

So when you see a happy smile, your mirror neurons copy it by signalling the facial muscles required to pull the same smile. But it doesn’t stop there. The MNS also incorporates some emotional circuitry in the brain, which means that we don’t just mirror the facial expressions that we see, but we feel the emotions that accompany those expressions.

So when a person is happy and you happen to be in their company, there’s a good chance that you’ll feel happy too. Your mirror neurons will cause you to automatically smile more and they will tap into your emotions so that you actually feel happier too. The longer you spend with the person, the happier you become.

In the presence of a happy person, happiness transmits like the waft of a scented candle, literally infecting all who come into contact with it.

Sadness and depression spread in the same way. Mirror neurons reproduce the facial expressions and body language that you see and the longer you spend with a sad or depressed person, the more chance you have of catching sadness or depression from them.

And the happiness or sadness bug doesn’t just stop at you. Astonishing recent research from Harvard University shows that these moods actually spread throughout entire social networks. In a very real sense we are swimming in an ocean of emotional currents and we don’t realise it. Sometimes we are lifted by a wave and other times we fall. It’s a real phenomenon and it’s happening all around us, all of the time.

To take a real example, Harvard found that one person feeling happy can infect others out to three degrees of separation from them. Most people are familiar with the 6 degrees of separation rule – that each person is connected to everyone else by 6 degrees of separation. In other words, you know someone (1) who knows someone (2) who knows someone (3), etc, etc, who knows Barack Obama, or the Pope, or The Dalai Lama, who is six degrees removed from them.

Happiness and Depression spread to 3 degrees. In other words, if you are feeling happy, through emotional contagion you can make some of your friends’ friends’ friends’ happier, even though you have never met them, nor are you ever likely to meet them. Yet their mental health is, without doubt, linked to yours and yours to theirs.

Similarly, we can be infected with depression at a social distance of 3 degrees away from us. Many people think that to improve their mental healthy they need to work on themselves.

Of course, that is a fact. But it would also benefit us to help others, even those we hardly know, because our mental health is linked with theirs. Research of this type is showing, in solid, hard scientific terms, that we live in an interconnected world, that everyone matters, and that we need to look out for others. Or as Martin Luther King put it during his Nobel lecture on 11th December 1964:

‘In the final analysis, the rich must not ignore the poor because both rich and poor are tied in a single garment of destiny. All life is interrelated, and all men are interdependent. The agony of the poor diminishes the rich, and the salvation of the poor enlarges the rich. We are inevitably our brother’s keeper because of the interrelated structure of reality’.

This subject is covered extensively in David’s new book, ‘The Contagious Power of Thinking’ (Hay House, May 2011)

Prayer Circle

At The Relaxation Company we have a prayer circle, which is available to our readers, associates and clients. Please let us know if you would like to be included. This is of course completely confidential, minimal information only.

Collective Mindpower!

Watching the devastation in Japan after the recent massive earthquakes and tsunami as well, of course, as the dreadful contamination from the Fukushima Nuclear Plants, we all have such a feeling of helplessness. However I was inspired the following week on receiving an email from Masuro Emoto.

Many of you will be familiar with his 20 years of study and research into water crystal photographic technology. Dr Emoto has witnessed that water can turn positive when it receives pure vibration of human prayer not matter how far away it is.

Here is an extract from the email and although global prayer was requested on March 31st, I feel sure the water won’t mind if we are a bit late!

‘Human wisdom has not been able to do much to solve the problem, but we are only trying to cool down the anger of radioactive materials in the reactors by discharging water to them. Is there really nothing else to do? I think there is.

During over twenty year research of hado measuring and water crystal photographic technology, I have been witnessing that water can turn positive when it receives pure vibration of human prayer no matter how far away it is. Energy formula of Albert Einstein, E=MC2 really means that Energy = number of people and the square of people’s consciousness.

Now is the time to understand the true meaning. Let us all join the prayer ceremony as fellow citizens of the planet earth. I would like to ask all people, not just in Japan, but all around the world to please help us to find a way out the crisis of this planet!!

The prayer procedure is as follows. Day and Time: March 31st, 2011 (Thursday)?12:00 noon in each time zone. Please say the following phrase:

“The water of Fukushima Nuclear Plant, we are sorry to make you suffer. Please forgive us. We thank you, and we love you.”

Please say it aloud or in your mind. Repeat it three times as you put your hands together in a prayer position. Please offer your sincere prayer.’

This may seem a bit far fetched to some; however when we consider the power of collective thinking and the way it brings about the changes we have seen this year in the Middle East, it seems that anything is possible if enough focus is put on it!

I’m sure many of you already know about Avaaz who have made a huge difference to human rights around the world. This email came in last week – the power of the collective absolutely makes a difference to our global citizens.

“Uganda’s anti-gay law has failed! It looked sure to pass last week, but after 1.6 million petition signatures delivered to Parliament, tens of thousands of phone calls to our own governments, hundreds of media stories about our campaign and a massive global outcry, Ugandan politicians dropped the bill!

It was down to the wire – religious extremists tried to push the bill through on Wednesday, and then convened an unprecedented emergency session of Parliament on Friday. But each time, within hours, we reacted.

A huge congratulations to everyone who signed, called, forwarded and donated to this campaign – with our help, thousands of innocent people in Uganda’s gay community do not wake up this morning facing execution for whom they chose to love.

Frank Mugisha, a courageous leader of the gay community in Uganda sent us this message:

“Brave Ugandan LGBT activists and millions of people around the world have stood together and faced down this horrendous anti-homosexuality bill. The support from the Avaaz global community has tipped the scales to prevent this Bill going forward. Global solidarity has made a huge difference” “ www.avaaz.org
