Effective Living in Times of Uncertainty
Following the proven success of our Champion for Wellbeing Programme through research commissioned by Edinburgh University, we are now making this powerful process available to all by a series of workshops throughout 2011, the first one being scheduled for 16th March.
These bespoke programmes will continue with the ethos of the original that was pioneered in schools and now adapted for any individual, team or organisation concerned with strengthening emotional health and well-being, resulting in greater control, confidence and recognition of your own and others’ skills.
The Programme consists of 3 days’ training, spaced over a 3/4 month period, and backed up by 6 coaching sessions. Each attendee will be allocated a coach to work with over the period.
Booking details will be available on our website from 14th January 2011.
Why Women in China Do Not Get Breast Cancer
Why Women in China Do Not Get Breast Cancer by Professor Jane Plant, PhD, CBE is a fascinating insight into her personal experience in dealing with breast cancer and the research conducted around “the slang name for breast cancer in China translates as “Rich Woman’s Disease” …….because, in China, only the better off can afford to eat what is termed “Hong Kong Food”.
“Anyone who has come into contact with breast cancer will know that certain risk factors – such as increasing age, early onset of womanhood, late onset of menopause and a family history of breast cancer – are completely out of our control. But there are many risk factors, which we can control easily.
These “controllable” risk factors readily translate into simple changes that we can all make in our day-to-day lives to help prevent or treat breast cancer. My message is that even advanced breast cancer can be overcome because I have done it.”

Anxiety Workshops
Gill Batty, a Relaxation Company Associate, is now offering workshops which will allow people to develop an informed understanding of the conditions of Anxiety/Depression. This knowledge increases the autonomy and empowerment of individuals who have previously felt at the mercy of their symptoms. Knowledge removes mystery and fear and allows people to attain a greater level of self-awareness and acceptance.

Action for Happiness
A new community website founded by Lord Layard, who is described as being the Governments ‘Happiness czar’. The question being asked is ‘What is progress? For fifty years we have aimed at higher incomes – and got them.
But the shocking fact is that, despite being much wealthier, surveys show that we’re no happier than we were five decades ago. At the same time we’ve seen an increase in wider social issues, including a worrying rise in levels of anxiety and depression in young people. It’s clear that our society needs a radical change in priorities.’
Action for Happiness aims to inspire people to get in touch with what really matters to them and help them join together to make positive changes in their families, schools, workplaces and communities. For more info and to join the community go to http://www.actionforhappiness.org/ <http://www.actionforhappiness.org/>

A Golden Nugget
Recently I came across an app in the iTunes store called Self Classics costing 59p. Within the list of many Best Selling Classics in this field, by well known authors such as Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie, I came across The Master Key System by Charles Hannel which he wrote in 1916 and is known as the developer of The Law of Attraction. This was originally taught as a 24 week course which people paid vast amounts of money for, it is now in the public domain. So if you are interested and you don’t have a smart phone you can download it on a pdf file at

I can only say have a look – this may bring you all you ever wished for!
Happy reading!
