John is a former Army Officer who served with the Royal Engineers, providing a full range of Engineering solutions from building bridges, (the one on the West Highland Way is still there!!), constructing Harrier Jet combat airfields and classrooms and surveying trigonometric data points in Kenya,… to name a few. John served for 9 years and visited the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, The Falkland Islands, Cyprus and Africa.
John is a serial entrepreneur and on leaving the Army in 1990, started and operated a number of small businesses. These included a Project Management Consultancy in the construction industry, a Groundworks Company, a Cleaning Company, a DIY Garage, and a Business Consultancy. John also gained valuable experience as manager with J Sainsury plc, as an Area Director with Business Network International (BNI) and as Operations Director with Shaw Water Engineering.
John joined the Board in July 2008 and brings his business and project management experience as well as a unique ability to help people materialise their visions.
